The evidence. In SURMOUNT-1, the 15 mg group lost an average of 20.9% of body weight over 72 weeks.
Not everybody needs to get here, and reaching it is not a measure of success. Many people do best settling lower.

Do you need to go higher than 15 mg?
15 mg is the top of the ladder, so the question here is the opposite one: whether you need to stay this high. Some people step back down to a lower maintenance dose once they have reached their goal. That is a conversation for your prescriber.
Do I need to reach 15 mg to get results?
No. 10 mg produced 19.5% average loss against 20.9% at 15 mg — a real but modest difference. Plenty of people do best settling lower and staying there, which beats reaching the maximum and stopping.
